I wanted to find out some information regarding anyone who is a PTA. I am currently going to school to become a PTA and I wanted to kind of job shadow a little bit to get a sense of idea what the life of a PTA is like. I was wanting to know if anyone could give me some details about what they do as a PTA and what are their likes/dislikes are with their job? I am wanting to be a pediatric PTA because I want to mainly just work with kids. What is the stress level like with this job too? Things that I have heard about this career field is that the job growth is looking good, the stability of the job is great, the pay is really good, and you have flexibility. Are these things true? Well I hope to hear back from some PTA’s and hope the news is good. Thanks and god bless.

I was employed once as a PTA, and I hated it! That was because it was geriatrics!(but that’s another story) But you are right, job growth is good, pay was good, but I did not have any flexibility ( was a small office ) It’s a lot of hands on, and you will need to have patience to work with children! You need to basically teach, show them what they need to do. You will help them do these exercises. You will record all this information. you will tell their parents how to help them at home. You will most likely have basic knowledge of medical ins. (again i worked in small office)
