3. If a girl had Aspergers, could she be able to recite the spelling of any word from re-reading the dictionary?
4. If a girl had Aspergers and got into an accident, could she fall into a coma and have to have her head shaved, but then wave up?

The answers to the first 2 questions can vary depending on whether or not these individuals went to medical school directly out of college, or if they had a previous career or took time off. If the 1st one went straight from college to med school to residency she would be approximately 29 or 30 (depending on the length of the EM residency, some are 3 some are 4 yrs.). I think peds residency is 3 yrs so this doctor would be approximately 32 yrs old (this is all based on graduating college at 22 and graduating medical school at 26).
3. I think you are confusing Aspergers with autism or an autistic savant, look this term up.
4. If the girl had a significant head injury that may cause a coma (regardless of the Aspergers). If she required surgery then part of her head would be shaved for the procedure. It is possible to wake up and have a good recovery but this depends on the extent of the brain injury.
1. about 28-30
2. about 30-32
3. if you mean by memory, having read the dictionary once – no. If you mean could she read the dictionary and get the spelling from that, then read it to you – yes. Aspergers children are generally not a lot different from any other children in intellect and ability, they just have an impairment in social reciprocation and connectedness. You might be looking for a sauvant, an unusual form of autism or other mental impairment associated with an exception skill in another area, such as memorizing spelling.
4. Absolutely, just as could any other child. Nothing unique about Aspergers and comas or head trauma.
Not dumb at all. Good luck in your story..
