I have been consulting Dr. Veena puri all this while for my 3 month baby , and have found her fantastic. But there is a change in my insurance plan, because of which I may have to change to someone in Kaiser if I am to pay the same insurance charge or opt for another insurance plan that Dr. Puri supports. But this will mean that I may have to pay more. I want your recommendations around this..Would be nice if you could let me know how the paeds in Kaiser are. If they are really good, then I wouldn’t mind changing from Dr. Puri to someone from Kaiser..

My kids have Kaiser and I have been so utterly grateful for their pediatrician because if it wasn’t for him, my youngest would not have gotten early intervention services for his special needs. Their pediatrician looked at my son when he was only 14 months old, stated he thinks he has autism and after seeing the specialist, we found out he DID have autism and mental retardation and was able to start him on services at 19 months old which is un-heard of (most start at 3 or 4 years old) Like I said, his expertise was amazing and I am grateful. So I recommend Kaiser at the bottom of my heart! Now the bads: certain Kaisers (normally the bigger ones/hospitals) are so busy it is ridiculous and you never get into your appt on time. But if you find a little clinic near your area then you will be in/out in no time at all. Oh, and they don’t cover “preventive services” concerning special needs children only “rehabilitative” (example would be they only give Occupational Therapy to stroke patients, not autistic kids) That sucks, but we live.

look at your provider list & compare it to notes from family and friends. discuss the insurance change wth the current pediatrician to ensure that you receive continuity of care. the office may make arrangements for your situation.

A+ pediatrition. Well he is my daughters doctor lol.
I know south Sac(kaiser, where I delivered my baby) has good doctors.
