Reprimand for battery
11 times drunk and disorderly

Don’t answer if you’re going to preach please! Believe me i know the things i have done are wrong and i am EXTREMELY ashamed of my past!
I had a serious drink and drug problem and was a real nasty piece of work if i’m honest!
I got clean and sorted myself out when i got pregnant, my baby is now 4 months old and i am still on the straight and narrow! Will NEVER go back to my old lifestyle, my daughter is worth far too much!
Anyways, i’m wanting to go back to college because i want to get a career and a well paid job to support her properly and bring her up differently to what i was!
I’d kill to be a pediatric nurse or a paramedic but i know there’s NO WAY!
All i can think of that i would be allowed to do is hairdressing or something along those lines but its not a brilliant career in my eyes
Any ideas please?

I may not have worded my question correctly and I apologize but I don’t know what else to do. My daughter Valerie is 25 years old. She is a beautiful young woman and we love her unconditionally. Valerie has been doctor shopping. We looked through her purse and found 4 pharmacy cards. She is on 17 different medications which she says that it’s for back pain and we spoke to a doctor who says that she does not need to be on 17 different medications. This all started when Valerie turned 12. She would sneak out of the house and drink. She started prostituting when she was 12 and has used this money to buy drugs. She would tell people she was 18 and have sex with guys as old as 30. When she got released from juvenile detention, she would run away again and have sex with older guys. We did press charges against these men but she would not stop. She started smoking crystal meth when she was 13. We put her in rehab many times which had no effect because she would do drugs. She also did Crack, Cocaine, Heroin, Percocet, Exocine, Desyrel, Xanax, Marijuana. When she was 14, she got pregnant with her now 11 year old son Daniel. When the baby was born, he had to be moved to a level 1 pediatric care facility because he was born addicted to drugs. When she was 16, she got pregnant with her 9 year old son James. James is his middle name. His first name is Anthony but we called him James because Anthony was named after Tony, someone who was busted selling cocaine. She got pregnant again at 17 with her 7 year old son Michael. We are afraid she might be pregnant right now. She is an alcoholic, has no job, doesn’t have custody of her children, homeless, never finished high school and her I don’t know what to do with her.

This is a serious question, I’m not trying to offend anybody, so just please read the whole question before you answer.

Have you ever known any men that you knew for sure were not having Gay sex, but got AIDS from unprotected sexual contact with a woman?

Paul Michael Glaser’s (star of Starsky & Hutch series) Wife Elizabeth contracted HIV from a blood transfusion in 1984, she had it for 4 years without knowing it . She passed it onto her children through breast feeding but Michael never got it. How do you explian this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Glaser_Pediatric_AIDS_Foundation

I was an adult before the public became aware of HIV and in all my years I have only known 2 people to die from it, one was a Gay male and One was an IV drug user.

So, do you actually know someone, or can give me a link something that verifies that this can happen. Do you have any stats on the chances?

Any information you can give me would be greatly apreaciated, Thanks
Please don’t say Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas hinted to the press that Magic was having gay sex.
Blaize, I’m asking you to prve it. Please no first year sex education lessons needed.
Mick, where does it say in my question that i want to play sexual Russian roulette with a woman?

Let me simplify this, Please name ONE SINGLE PERSON in particular who has contracted AIDS this way. All I need is one confirmed case.
Give me facts, not Dr. opinions, not assumptions, not lectures on morality or safe sex. Again GIVE ME FACTS ONLY!!

I heard that the FDA has finally approved for the drug to be sold OTC here in the U.S. However: I cannot find where on the website: http://www.fda.gov that it states that.
Also, does the American Society of Pediatric finally approve using probiotics for infants? I heard so but I need the evidence to show my PED.
Please note I attempt both the FDA.gov web and the aap.org site. Cannot find any info. There are not products out in stores! But unfortunately, the city I live in is not so updated. I need to get my siblings to buy and ship it to me out of state. Yet, I am still hesitant: I want to see more approval evidence.
I meant to say: there are NOW products in the stores
I have talked to my PED and to 2 other PEDs in this area (city pop: 80K: not so updated) and all three hesitate and also they want to see evidence of approval before they recommend probiotics.

We were still experiencing issues such as vomitting and bouts of crying while eating, so doctor gave us domperidone and said this should help. If this dosent he said its the formula. I cant find any info on pediatric domperidone and its usage, is this common practice, doc said yes but I am a pharmacy technician and rarely see this dispensed to babies. Does anyone have any advice on this drug or any suggestions as to how we can help our little guy with his stomach ailments.

I was prescribed 20mg of Celexa for anxiety/depression. I was against medicine and my doctor persuaded me to give it a shot and told me I would have very little or no side effects since it was practically a pediatric dose. After taking the first pill, I experienced terrible side effects. 8 hours after taking it, I developed an awful headache and about 14 hours after taking it, the side effects peaked. My heart began to race, I experienced chest pain, dizziness, dry mouth, tremors, nausea and cold sweats. It was very uncomfortable and I wasn’t able to sleep at all that night. I tossed and turned and was wide awake. In addition, I felt more depressed than I ever had in my life! The next day, my doctor told me I should not continue to take the pill. She told me to take Benedryl to help me sleep. I did, and figured that the drug would have worn off. Most all of the side effects had gone away but the next night was just as miserable because I couldn’t sleep. I was just groggy from taking the Benedryl. It was an awful feeling. After two days of trying to sleep and feeling physically and mentally exhausted with no relief, I felt drunk. On the third day, I figured I would have luck. Unfortunately, it is 6am and I have been up all night doing the same thing. It has been 3 days since I took the first dose. The last time I slept a wink was Sunday night and it is now Thursday morning. I can’t function but I also can’t sleep and I’ve never had a problem sleeping before. Shouldn’t the medicine be out of my system by now and has anyone else experienced these effects?

If not, or even if you have…I wanted to mention a few things you may not be aware of (my best friend is an internist)

1.) You don’t have to drink a gallon of salty liquid or starve yourself for 24 hours for this test. A combination of biscotyl pills, usually 3 of them and a cold bottle of magnisium citrate work just as well and don’t tasted awful.
2.) You can eat a small breakfast and a plain turkey sandwich for lunch before starting the prep, just make sure after 12 noon to try to drink as much clear liquid as you can so you don’t get dehydrated.
3.) NEVER, EVER, EVER let a doctor use an adult sized colonscope on you!!! The risk of colon perforation when this is used and not a pediatric scope is multiplied by roughly 25 times!!
4.) Do NOT let the doctor give you Versed for this procedure!! It does absolutely nothing for pain, it’s an amnesiac. I had a terrible reaction to this evil drug and I’ve never been the same since, mostly depression and anxiety.
Alot of people have had Versed only to find them in excrutiating pain, but unable to speak or move due to this drug. There are other things that can be used like Propofol if you feel you need to be “asleep” for this procedure. If you think you’ll need pain relief ask for Demerol or Fentanyl. (but from experience, it’s a virtually painless test, and most people could do it w/o any drugs…I had no problem with it, not painful in the least.)
The hospitals do their best to push Versed on almost all patients. It’s very cheap and they can charge the Insurance Company a fortune, and make a large profit. Also if they mess up…it doesn’t matter…the patient will have amnesia anyway…and some end up with permant amnesia (like me.)
Versed isn’t helpful to ANYONE and never should have been allowed for use on humans!!!!

My son was diagnosed with adhd when he was 6 years old and we’ve tried so many different meds…many which did not work & the ones that did work…he has either reached the maximum dose which is what happened when he was taking ritalin or he is growing so fast & going through puberty that the meds he’s on right now which is Vyvanse a total of 90mgs per day is no longer as effective as it was when we started him on it 3 years ago. When we started him on the Vyvanse he was only taking 40mgs per day & it was working great for him even though we had to gradually over time increase the dose. I just took him to a new pediatric office because we moved & the new doc wants him to be seen by a neurologist because of his history of being on so many different medications throughout the years which I am glad because I hate seeing him on so many meds..he is currently taking 3 different meds a day for his adhd and we’ve been wanting more answers besides drugging him all the time, we do know that he is still gonna need meds for his adhd but we would certainly like to see him on less meds than he’s currently taking now. How can a neurologist help?

I apologize for the multitude of “stupid” questions today – I’ve been trying to keep my mind on other things and have come up with some unbelievably messed up stuff ;0)

My husband and I went to the emergency room last night (for him) and he was later diagnosed with have viral meningitis. He’s still unconcious – he has the worst tolerance to any type of drug [he can break his leg and take half a tylenol and feel no pain] and they sedated him to do a spinal tap at 2am last night, and he’s still out – been in and out all day/night). About three hours ago, the nurse told me it’d be better for me to go home and rest then stay here and worry.

When I came home the kids – who were with my husbands brother – were still awake, though barely, and wanted to know immediately where their father was. I told them he was still at the doctor, and we’d talk in the morning (the boys are 2 and our daughter will be 3 in two days).

My issue is i don’t know what to say to them. How do I tell them that he could be in the hospital for two weeks? Oh and that they can’t seem him since he’s in Quarrintine (at our hospital, if your under 25 your considered a pediatric case, because of this they put my husband in Quarrintine until tommorrow where they’ll move him to I.C.U. for a little bit – either way the kids can’t see him). So what do I tell them? Do I go into details or just say he’s sick?

I think I’m rambling now. Again, sorry, but my mind is still racing. Coming home did nothing except make me worry in my own house instead of in the hospital.

Any help or suggestions of any kind is appreaciated!

I currently work in the emergency department, but have a job offer at a pediatric doctors office. I currently drive an hour to work and hour back 3 days/wk, and the doctors office is 10 min down the road. I love the adrenaline of the REAL emergencies, but get really tired of the crap I have to deal with (drug seekers, sexual assaults of children, bull crap from rude people) and of course having to work holidays and driving 2 hours to and from work. I think it would be nice to have a normal 8-5, Mon-Fri job, but wonder if I will be happy in the doctors office??? Would like to have some advice….thanks
