Identify what the "regular nursing program" is. Are you on a career path to LVN/LPN or RN? If you are in an associates or diploma degree program? If you decide to work towards an RN, I really do recommend that you consider a BSN, this is the trend & many employers are preferring a BSN over an ADN or diploma RN. You can work as a nurse at a hospital specializing in pediatrics or a general hospital with pediatric unit(s) with or without a BS. The question is how far do you want to go with your education & career ( & your potential earning). You can work as a nurse without the bachelors for now & go back to school later to get your BS. But most nurses I have known (in my 23 yrs++ as a nurse) that began with LVN/ADN/Diploma wish they had gone on the path of BS to begin with. Funding your education should not be a problem, there are a lot of scholarships, loans, grants, etc. and
