Money is not the only thing in life that matters.
Do you really think that people who work with critically or terminally ill children do it for the money? No matter how detatched they try to be, they find that they become emotionally involved in some cases. No amount of millions can compensate them for the pain of a sudden loss and on the other hand no amount of millions is as satisfying as an unexpected success.
Celebrities live by the whim of a fickle public who adore them one day and have forgotten them the next. They get paid lots of money based on their earning power.
If you really care about celebrities being overpaid, then stop buying the magazines or watching the movies etc.
They make a lot of money but it really is more of a culturally driven socio-political question. We live in a culture that values celebrity & entertainment externally motivated pursuits.
Don’t blame celebrities for taking advantage of system that worships at the alter of the superficial and the absurd. They are just clogs in the machinery. It makes you wonder about the kind of world we have created for ourselves and our children and what kind of legacy we are leaving for those who come after we are long gone
None of this is an accident. They command the salaries because people pay. Note the whole industry around people magazine, etc where people are totally wrapped up in celebrities’ lives. I think it’s bizarre. But what the duck. I’d take the cash, wouldn’t you?

A garbageman is worth more to society than a “celebrity.” If not for a garbageman, the neighborhood would stink and disease would run rampant.

Celebrities are not only overpaid but their arrogance extends into our judicial system,they have gotten away with drug abuse, drug selling,stealing,assault on officers,murder,child molesting,wife abuse and yet on top of all that normal working people, politicians and the media treat them like royalty,we live in a very confused world
not at all. Think about all the other people who are involved in the process. Studios, producers, casting. The actors are only a tool for the bigger media machine. Different slant: good doctors can earn millions each year also but is this seen as grossly overpaid?

yes, and that goes with athletes as well.the ones that should be paid more is police and firemen they keep the streets protected that’s anything a actor or athlete do.all they do is entertain us.

YES. I mean if you are at a Civic Center doing a play you do it because you want to not because you get paid. ANd Morgan Freeman and Attony Hopkins deserve it becuz in my opinion they are GREAT but some ppl arent even good and they get paid.
I think they are grossly underpaid…kidding. Its sick, when you see celebrities trying to ask people to DONATE money to a cause…that makes alot of sense. How about forking over your share you douchebags.

they need to look good to earn and so they have to spend..

are paying big taxes.. they are paying millions for tax.
they are earning big coz if they model a product or if they have a movie in theathers .. we buy the product …
people are watching the movie.. we are helping them.. do we have to blame our self?
aside from the talent fees that they get to shoot a film or a commercial ..
they also get a commision from the product if it is salelable.. and also if the movie is award winning..
they are helping the government to earn money..
