My son is considered a special needs child. We don’t think he’s Autisic based on the opinion of a pediatric Neurologist. However, he is extremely Hyper. Hyper to a point where we cannot calm him dawm. He screams and yeals and runs in place when he sees his favorite TV show or when he is excited. His mother and I have tried Addoral but that makes him a emotional mess, he first falls asleep then wakes up to wanting to cuddle, then for now reason begins to cry uncontrollably. Addoral and Clonidine has been what the doctor recommends but we haven’t seen the results we wanted. My has been recieving cranial sacral therapy wich has been a big helpl but we cannot get him to calm down. Does anyone have any recommendations.

A few months ago, I received oral sex (I’m a dude) and I’m slightly afraid of an STD showing up when I get my next physical, which will probably happen in the next few months.
I’m 16, so I can’t visit the doctor on my own, nor can my results be kept private IF I go to my family doctor.
However, I CAN get anonymously STD at a local clinic. Once I get a spare moment (My life is hectic. haha) I intend on getting a ride to that clinic and doing some testing. The only problem is that I don’t think I can get treatment (ie. Antibiotics) without parental consent.

So, yea. Is the urine test you get from a routine pediatric physical tested for any STD’s?
I’ve have no symptoms EXCEPT for a random VERY mild urinary burning sensation. It usually happens maybe once a day – if at all – and when I was on vacation in Jamaica, it didn’t hurt once. Actually, it really never bothers me much and when I don’t even think about it, I never experience. Could this be nerves?

I love that I will only have to work a few days a week.
I love children. And I know I’d be a wonderful pediactric nurse. My ultimate goal is to be a pediatric nurse and I know I may have to work and gain experience to achieve my goal but I know I can get there. Is that an attainable goal with only an ADN and not a BSN?

My son is 15 months old and he only got his first two bottom teeth when he was 13 months old. He has no other teeth yet. This delayed us trying puffs, crackers, etc. He eats mainly the size 3 baby food with chunks and will eat mashed potatoes and vegetable/chicken noodle soup, but he gags horribly on nearly everything else. He acts like those Gerber puffs are not even food; gags, spits and finally pulls them out of his mouth and throws them down. He gags and throws up with little bits of crackers or cookies or nearly anything else we’ve tried. Does anyone have any recommendations? Our pediatrician actually wanted us to have him evaluated by an occupational therapist to make sure there was nothing more serious wrong with him. He’s 33″ long and 25 pounds… healthy in all ways. He can hold his cups’ handles and pick up food (enough to throw). He drinks milk and juice, but not too much.
Thanks!

I just started renting an office in a small building with a few other offices. I specifically asked the person who leased it to me if I could bring my dogs, and he said yes. Today is the first day I have brought them, and one of the other renters is crying bloody murder because she is a Pediatric Speech Therapist and claims that she sees lots of kids with special needs such as autism and that they will get really sick from the dogs. Is this possibly true? Is there a connection between a child’s special needs and dogs? Are they particularly prone to dog allergies? I mean, given that there is an organization called the “Autism Service Dogs of America” I really have to question if this woman is just using her special needs patients as an excuse and that the reality is that she just doesn’t like dogs and wants to be the “ruler of the offices.” Can someone enlighten me?
