hopefully this will all be gone by march, but i would be very upset! if my neices and nephews, which are young, wouldnt be able to see our baby they would be very sad, and so would i! yes, i understand its for the health of everyone, which is good, but they can wear masks if they want to be all careful…

No, but I will. I know that my hospital I am delivering at has a strict “no children under 12″ policy, unless it is a sibling. I don’t think it’s unnecessary. It’s no real secret that hospitals do have germs and you can get sick in them, so I think that’s a good precaution to take.

I just heard about this early today and I have mixed feelings about the subject. While H1N1 is a serious issue right now, I think people tend to take it a bit overboard. I think the hospitals are just doing what they think is necessary to keep Mom and baby healthy. Hopefully the panic of H1N1 starts to calm down.

Well, it may not seem fair at the time, but think about it. The hospital has to protect the patients. You wouldn’t want the lady in the next room over having a ton of sick people visiting her and leaving germs in the hallway.
We are only in the hospital for a day or three, its not like people can’t wait till we go home to meet the baby. Because of group B strep I have to stay in the hospital for 48 hours with the new baby, and I am sure my daughter will be bummed if she can’t visit, but its not the end of the world.

I have heard of this going on, but I don’t think any of the hospitals in my area have made any decisions like this yet. If they did, I would be disappointed, but I’m one of those people that trusts pretty fully in the knowledge of doctors and other hospital staff…they make decisions to protect myself and my baby and I definitely would not be upset by their efforts.
