If you want to become a nurse practitioner, then it's around 6-8 years. I'm an oncology nurse for adults, and I absolutely love it! It takes a special personality to be a nurse to begin with. RN salaries differ from state to state. My sis and I are both RNs and we live opposite ends of the country and make similar salaries.
