Yes, you need to do four years of college to get a Bachelors of Science degree I believe.

Then, you need to go to medical school and get a degree in medicine so you can become a MD or go to a school of osteopathy if you want to become a DO.

Med School I think takes 4 years, too, maybe? I’m not sure sorry!

Next, you will need to complete the internship part then residency of your education. So, here you really get to put your skills to work. You will do this at a hospital. When you do your residency, you will be known as a resident who is pretty much learning and doing procedures at a hospital under the guidance of a qualified, certified, doctor most likely an attending.

You will need to do specific work in pediatric surgery, maybe general surgery, too.

To become certified, you will need to do certain things, do certain hours, and pass exams, and then I believe you become an offical MD who can now practice medicine!

Good Luck and Nice Career Choice :)
