		<description>2 years.  You can get you associates degree in nursing (ADN) and then pass the NCLEX-RN.  You can then pick which specialty you want to be an RN in and pediatrics can be one of those specialties.
If you want to practice autonomously, you can later get your employer to pay for a RN-BSN program and later get your MSN and practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  However, it is highly recommended to have several years of RN experience before completing a MSN program.</description>
