First: become a nurse - registered in at least on state
If your grades and clinical practice reports indicate , you can work in pediatric setting for a year or more.
Then join the military.

Any type of military service is a good field of work. First, you can sign up with a recruiter. You can register as a nurse with that recruiter, then you can join the military.
As you move up each rank, your pay will increase along with it. If you stay in the Air Force long enough...then you are eligible for a retirement pension depending on your rank. It could be $30,000 pension or higher.
Good luck!!

Where is Cecilia when we need her?.
Do you mean as a Nurse Clinician (CNC)? That would require a BSN/MSN. Straight out of your BSN, you will likely be asked your preferences...but your assignment will be up to your unit, as per your quals.
As a staff RN, there is a good chance you could end up on Peds, but that depends on your quals. and those pesky ol'"Needs of The Air Force."
Hopefully, Cecilia will be here STAT with an update from the Army Nurse Corps.
