My 14yo daughter has had severely dry and painful eyes for about the past year. Two optomotrists diagnosed it as allergies, but the allergy drops that they prescribed didn’t help at all. A corneal specialist then diagnosed it as plugged oil glands in her eyelids, but what he prescribed, warm compresses, flax seed oil, and a ophthalmic antibiotic didn’t help either. I am taking her to a pediatric specialist next week, but in the meantime, she is liberally using artificial tears to get temporary relief. We live in the Midwest. We went to California last year, and her eyes were dramatically better. In fact, she said they did not hurt at all. Why do you think that is, and can you suggest anything to help her eyes?
Thanks.

Interesting. The change of locale resulting in improved symptoms sounds more like a dry eye problem or indeed an allergy problem. This is because her environment may have changed in regard to environmental humidity or a change in allergens in the air. Without examining her it is impossible to form an opinion. The best anti allergy med on the market is called Patanol. It is by prescription only, so the next best is Zaditor. It is over the counter.
have you tried billbury, or just walk into GNC and ask one of the attendants what type of vatimin is good for that, I had a problem with my eyes and thats where I got help sometimes we have to be careful of these doctors this and that and just try the good old health food store stuff they have no side effects.
