Has anyone child experience dizziness at the age of 10?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Therapy
And she also told me that she can see herself at coney island, great adventure and taking her social studies test. Now my husband and i have been separated for along time and I am wondering besides from her Lupron therapy if she has some emotional things going on. Oh she has a pain in her leg with this dizziness. The lupron is for the leg pains by the way. I am taking her to the emr to evaluate this even though tomorrow she has a pediatric appointment.
What is a GREAT hospital for maternity-ob/gyn and Pediatrics in Georgia?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Hospitals
Hi, I am currently moving to Georgia in Gwinnett, and I have a 9 month old baby and I am currently pregnant with my second baby. I would love to know what hospital is great for labor and delivery and what hospital has a great pediatric center. I was looking at North side hospital and Emory Midtown Hospital but I’m not sure they sound nice and look nice online but it would be great if someone could tell me a little more. Thank you! or if someone knows a better hospital.
girls don’t trust foreigners?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Services
hi guys, i am a native American girl, my father ancestors are Cheyenne tribes, and my mother is an Irish lady we are a wonderful family and well educated, i am a pediatric beginner, i am supposed to be smarter then being used by a stupid foreigner who lied to me just to get his permanent residency, the story is long, but i can summarize it in few steps, we met each other at the hospital where i practice my functions until now, he was working as helper for an electrician, i saw him many time in the morning and it started when he got a little accident and i was there to treat him, so i give him another appointment and the relationship started, he told me that he was student and this job is just for paying bills, and we start dating i don’t know how even though many colleagues used to tell me to be aware from foreigners and to not embarrass myself by haranguing out with him, but i was always mad at them and i told them you are racists, BUT the truth is i was like with a blind heart, and by the time our love grew up and i trusted him even nothing happened between us because he always tried to convince me that he is a Muslim (he is north african arabic) , and after all of this i married him this year after one years together and once we got married i told him we need to live together in my house but we need to be a real couples, so he always refuses and he never moved to my house and he always begs me to keep his stuff in my house and he come every day after my work to just change his clothes and then he disappear for the next day, i felt something wrrong but i said maybe he is trying to prove to me that he is able to get his own apartment as my man, BUT the truth is once he got his work permit and temporary residence he changes behavior and he refuses to meet me and he always try to convince me with something and i really feel used for just his own service, and now i want to divorce him and he said don’t do it please and when i forced him for that he threaten me by saying that i asked him for money for that marriage, please can somebody tell me what can of people are these? because i heard many stories from some friends and almost a same thing happened with the same arabic north african people or latin people, what can i really do please?
thank you
infant scoliosis possibly?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Specialists
i just got the results for my 2 1/2 month old’s xrays, and turns out she has a 5 degree curve. they’re not saying its scoliosis yet since supposedly that requires a 10 degree curve, but shes always turned to the left which is making her back curve more and more. were gonna start her on pysical therapy this coming week while our appointment with the pediatric spinal specialist approaches, have any of you had a baby with any curve or scoliosis? if so, what was the outcome? when and how did u start noticing? is therapy going to be painul for her? what are the long term side effects of this? if it was years ago, is it completely gone or is it still noticeable? i have been doing research from the minute i got the results, but i wanna hear personal experiences please. thank you.
Baby’s Pediatrician Suggesting WRONG things?
Filed in The Category Pediatrician Recommendations
When my baby was 2 months old, her doctor told me to give her cereal when she was 3 months old.
I did maybe 3 times.
At 3 months old, he told me she needs cereal.
Again, I did gave her some, but very seldom.
At 4 months old he told me my daughter was starving and NEEDED baby food 2 times a day.
I was FED UP and told him quite clearly that at 17lbs and in the 89th percentile for height, she was NOT starving and that solids aren’t even recommended until 6 months. He told me she needed baby food because I wasn’t supplying the right amount of calories and that the 6 month recommendation was wrong.
My mom, who goes into appointments with me and my daughter (she likes hearing what the Dr. Says, and LOVES seeing the weight gain/height gain.) immediately agreed with him and suddenly I was double teamed!
My daughter has her 6 month checkup soon and I only give her solids once a day (at this point I feel she’s ready. She doesn’t spit ANY out, and actively tries to steal my food) but I know he’ll be after me about doing it twice a day.
I can already predict he’ll be recommending crying it out to make her sleep through the night and weaning her at 1, both of which I have no intentions of doing. She’s breastfed and will be self-weaning, and I will never do crying it out.
I know if I switch doctors, my mom will flip out and ridicule me for swapping doctors because I don’t like what he says (after all, he’s a doctor..he should know what he’s talking about, or so she says)
and I DO really like his sense of humor (I predict it will be great when my daughter is older)
How can I tell him to keep his opinions on how I feed her to himself?
Last time I checked, I’m the mom. I know how to raise my baby and I know what she needs.
Feeding her cereal at 3 months, however exciting, felt wrong.
At 5 1/2 months, it feels much much better..I know she’s ready.
Nervous About Switching to Homo Milk?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Specialists
My son turns 12 months old tomorrow and we just got back from his 1-year check-up. The doctor told me I should be switching him to homo milk now… As I have mentioned to him in the past, DS has had hives and eczema in reaction to dairy products (yogurt) and soy… He said I should still give the homo milk a try and if he has a reaction he will, at that point, refer him to a pediatric allergy specialist.
I am so nervous about trying the homo milk given DS’s history with food allergies… Any advice on how to go about it cautiously and get over my fear?
(as an aside, I’m also terrified to try egg whites and sesame…is this totally crazy of me?! I will definitely avoid nuts for a few years).
Thanks!!
LOL, I didn’t even realize that typing in “that kind of milk” might offend someone or be taken the wrong way. I guess Y/A took the liberty of bleeping the word out for me. Sorry if I offended anyone – I certainly didn’t mean to – just a question about milk! lol
He had the reaction when he ate them, not me.
Has anyone had experience with Von Willebrands Disease?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Diseases
My niece just turned 8 and has recently been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder called Von Willebrands Disease. Its a totally relief to finally know exactly what she has and an even bigger relief to know it’s treatable, but it’s still very scary. She’s seeing a pediatric hematologist, and is testing out some treatment later this week. I know that she is in good hands with her specialist, but I was just wondering if any other parents have had experience with this disease. I mean, I know that the doctor is providing my sister with all the information about Von Willebrands and I myself have done alot of research on the issue (as has my mother and sister), but I guess I’m just looking for any personal experiences.
Thanks in advance!
What do I need to do to become a Pediatric Oncologist?????!?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Care
I am 13 years old and I really want to become an Oncologist when I grow up! I know a lot of people who’ve had cancer, so I looked up different cancers and I am VERY interested in oncology. Specifically, Pediatric Oncology (Child Cancer Doctor).
I am being homeschooled (through K12) and I’m taking HS Latin and HS Advanced Earth Science. I am going into 8th grade, and already getting HS Credit. I Was wondering what other classes I should take to help work towards oncology.
Also, to be a pediatric oncologist, what degrees and such do I need to get? My mom said it will take about 8-10 years!! Whoa…
What are good schools to get the medical degrees and such?? I am in MI and I am willing to go to out of state if I absolutely have to. Any suggestions??
Also, what do Pediatric Oncologist do on a daily basis? I know it’s a sad job, sometimes, but I would really like to put my efforts into child care.
Thanks everyone! I am really excited to start learning towards my future goal and I want to start researching soon
I know I have time, but I want to be prepared!!
7 year old with calcium deposits on the brain?
Filed in The Category Pediatric Specialists
My neice is 7 years old and about 6 months ago had an unexplained fever for about a week. Bloodwork then was all normal. Then about a month ago she started having real bad headaches. Migraine like headaches. My SIL took her to the doctor and they did a CT Scan. They told my SIL she had calcium deposits and they are wanting to do a MRI and her to see a pediatric brain specialist. I can’t find any information about calcium deposits on the brain on the web. Does anyone have any legitimate information?
