Question. Has your child ever experienced any rash or recurrence of an infection after a vaccine? My son has been battling both impetigo and a diaper rash the past few weeks. A week before the vaccine, he was all rid of the impetigo and only has a slight redness on his rear. Well, this past Wednesday, he had his 4 month vaccines. On Wed night, his impetigo flared up and now it is on half of his face. Also, this morning he has red little bumps on his rear.
Coincidence? I called his dermatologist and he is out of town and the nurse at the peds said the vaccines have nothing to do with. But I am thinking maybe the vaccines temporarily suppressed his immune system and triggered the impetigo.

shes right they have nothing to do with it, i had a friend with impetigo. vaccines are safe and there are no real side effects that are dangerous or linked to anything
How dirty is your house? How often do you change diapers?
Impetigo is associated with being dirty and diaper rashes can happen when mom lets her baby sit in shit.
Impetigo is bacterial and cured with antibiotics. It is also highly contagious. I doubt a vaccination would do that.
I don’t know any ones kids who have been ill after vaccinations.
Vaccines will very often reduce a baby’s immune system because it is working so hard to rid the body of the “disease” the vaccine tricks it into believing it has. I vaccinated my first daughter on the reccomended schedual until we chose to quit at 9 months old. We decided to wait until she was bigger since she had trouble with them too. For this reason we have not begun to vaccinate our 5 month old. We will start when she is 2 years old.
Impetigo is caused by bacteria present naturally on the skin invading an opening on the skin surface. Really there’s no way it could be related to the vaccine. Impetigo invades the skin from the surface, the immune system really is not going to stop the infection. I think the Dr was right on this one.
That nurse is stupid and just giving you the party line (Ok…rant over). Of COURSE vaccines can irritate a condition that is already there. Happens to adults all the time when they get booster shots. In fact, my doc won’t give me my tetanus booster until my current health problem is more stable (new meds are helping, so I’m looking at getting tetanus booster in a couple of weeks). Happens more often with children. It does not suppress his immune system, however. If the child’s system is already fighting something, adding ‘one more thing’ makes it difficult to fight on all fronts.
Kids should never get vaccinations when they are already sick unless there is no choice (i.e. chronic problem). In fact, my vet won’t give pets vaccinations if they are sick. He saw the deterioration of already sick animals suddenly accelerate just after vaccination.
My cousin’s GF has an adult son who got quite sick with vaccinations, so she worked with the nurse to arrange to do vaccinations on an altered scheduled and only one at a time. She will finish her vaccinations before she enters school (she is not in day care), which is fine by the doc. Perhaps you should consider that as well.
