Well, most people who are physicians are in school a total of 8 years (4 years undergrad, 4 years med school). A residency does follow, but you get paid during that time (minimally, but money is still coming in, rather than going out). The cost can vary significantly, depending on the school you choose, whether or not you get scholarships or grants, if you have a working spouse, etc. Most people come out with over 100K in debt…some more, some less. With the cost of tuition these days, it is likely to be more. However, most physicians have no problems paying it off, especially if you plan on specializing in anesthesiology. Good luck!

Anywhere from free (courtesy of the military, to whom you will owe a lot of years of service) to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Tips: Learn how to capitalize and spell properly. Details matter.
Also, if you are going to be a physician, keep an open mind with regard to specialty. Most of us who “knew” what we wanted to do ended up changing our minds. You might find that peds anes isn’t what you think it is.

An arm and a leg. But you’ll be a doctor so you can patch yourself up afterwards.
